St Philip’s Club, Scunthorpe.
North Lincolnshire Council says the development must begin within three years.
The application for permission was lodged by well-known businessman Noel May.
It replaces similar planning permission, which had lapsed.
Two other developments in Scunthorpe have been supported by planners.
Permission has been given to build a block of 32 garages and demolish 60 existing garages on King Street, while outline permission has been granted for residential development on part of the allotments site on Somervell Road.
Permission has been granted to retain a new sprinkler tank and pumphouse, with fenced enclosure and associated access, at Foxhills Comprehensive School, Foxhills Road.
One resident living nearby complained to North Lincolnshire Council, saying the tank was obtrusive and unsightly.
BELTON: Planning permission has been granted to erect a new kiosk building and car wash on an existing garage site and adjacent residential land at 12 High Street. North Lincolnshire Council’s planning committee of elected councillors gave the go-ahead after a debate at Pittwood House, Scunthorpe.
Councillors were told there was significant public interest, an objection from Belton Parish Council and a 624-name petition against the proposals. Road safety concerns were raised and members of the planning committee made a site visit before reaching their decision to give the go-ahead. A report prepared by planning staff advised them: "The site already operates as an unrestricted petrol filling station and associated convenience shop. The use and operation of the site will be unaltered as a result of the proposed development."
WINTERINGHAM: Permission has been granted to erect a detached dwelling on land to the rear of 8 Silver Street. The application was considered by the planning committee – rather than being decided by officers – because of significant public interest. Winteringham Parish Council objected, suggesting a two-storey building would dominate listed properties on Silver Street.
BURTON STATHER: Advertisement consent for an internally-illuminated fascia sign at Westlands Social Club, Todds Lane, has been refused.
BARTON: Planning permission to erect a conservatory at Highbury, Finkle Lane, has been granted by North Lincolnshire councillors, although there was an objection by Barton Town Council.
MESSINGHAM: Permission has been granted to raise the height of an existing garage roof to form additional first floor accommodation at Orchard House, 16 Cross Tree Road, although Messingham Parish Council objected.
SOUTH FERRIBY: Approval to erect a pair of semi-detached dormer bungalows and garages has been given for Wayside, Sluice Road.
GOXHILL: Outline planning permission has been granted to erect a detaching dwelling at Drumcondra, Elm Lane, to which Goxhill Parish Council lodged an objection.
